PL + Idiot Puller = Disaster. I was in the dunes a couple of days ago lvling my nin and for whatever dumb reason, our puller decides to pull a Mad Sheep.............Everybody knows you dont fight sheep because they use {Sleep} when the puller announced he was pulling i said..........Sheep use sleep........And idiot puller says oh we got two pls though . So i say if the pl gets slept we are doomed..... And of course what happens "Sheep uses Sheep Song" slept everybody even the two pls. I just lost shadows when i was slept and then i woke up. Sheep hit me about 4 times and i died. Idiot puller says.....I wont pull anymore of those.

actually, sheep are decent mobs to fight if you have good mages who know to stand out of their range. let me guess, everyone was meleeing...

        Thanks Yyg!

Sheep Song doesn't have that much range. Your PLs didn't know what they were doing if they were standing that close to begin with.

I guess those 2 PL were PL'ed by others when they were at low levels too...

Come on, by the time a player leaves Dunes + Kazham, the player should know Sheep and Mandy have AoE sleep and know how to deal with it...

When I PL in the dunes I stay right by the sheep too. Their songs only works on my like 1/100 times. Not quite worth the the trouble to stay at distance really since it will run to the PLer anyway. And if you barsleep, you should wake in no more than 10 seconds.

Re: PL: When to say {No thanks.}?

I forgot to mention, that for some jobs, tank jobs in particular, where people don't have the actual skills for it pre leveled, such as parry, evasion and shield, PL is actually a horrible detriment to that player's future parties. Parrying and getting a shield block off are hard enough on IT mobs, doing it when your skills are under leveled because you had a PL for the first 20 levels will be almost impossible.

So for the tanking jobs, I think a PL is rather bad if it is for too long a time, and if the player doesn't have the skills already leveled. For say the whm in the party I don't think it's that bad.... Once the party is over they can cap their healing magic pretty quickly.

You have the right to remain silent, anything you say can and will be misqouted and then used against you.

I don't have a big ego, it just has a large mouth.

I've also realized that good players will learn the ropes on their own once they get put under pressure, and bad players often won't, so all the PL does is postpone the inevitable day of reckoning for bad players. If you're a good player, it shouldn't affect you at all. So take the PL and move on and find something more interesting to do once you get where you need to be level-wise.

I must be a bad player then. Scratch that I know I am.

It took me 6 months to get my first job Thf up to lv 30.

I quit for a while and then tried to be a Black Mage and only got as far as 20 before I gave up.

I lved lots of times with out PLS before. I guess it's just knowing where to party and when too. Cause if thwere is no one one you can't really party.

But I am getting back on to try again after Christmas. It was just iritating how my RL friend can lv 5 lvs in a day, and I can lv 1 lv in 5 days.

Being low level over time doesn't necessarily mean you are a bad player. Bad luck at finding parties, unsufficient time spent, or distractions can cause you not to be able to accomplish as much as you'd hope.

Don't sweat it. You're only in trouble if you notice that you're leaving a lot of parties with little or no progress, at which point you might want to assess why your parties are not of decent quality.

levelling slow doesn't mean you're bad. What's more important is if you enjoy the pace you're playing at. And also how often you play too.

What I can't stand is getting into a party and get 300 exp per hour >.>

300 for me would of been an aprovemnet.

I guess the first time around I did like doing crafting and questing more the nlving.
